G&H Acquires Gould Fiber Optics
Gooch & Housego (G&H) has announced that it has acquired US fiber optic components and subsystems specialist Gould Fiber Optics (GFO).
Gooch & Housego is a photonics technology business headquartered in Ilminster, Somerset, UK with operations in the USA and Europe. The
company researches, designs, engineers and manufactures advanced photonic subsystems, and components for applications in the aerospace
& defense, industrial systems, optical communications, life sciences and scientific research sectors.
Gould Fiber Optics is a supplier of key enabling components to Tier 1 U.S. Aerospace and Defense customers.
According to G&H, the GFO acquisition brings the technology and routes to market required for G&H to access the US Aerospace and Defense fiber optic market, an area that G&H says had previously been largely denied to it, due to International Trade in Arms (ITAR) regulations.
