Powerlasers to be purchased by Dofasco

HAMILTON, Ontario, Canada, May 8 -- Powerlasers Limited, manufacturers of laser-welded automotive blanks, has been sold to Dofasco by Cosma International Inc. Under the agreement Powerlasers will become a subsidiary of Dofasco.
Powerlasers will continue to manufacture its automotive blanks and related components. Its manufacturing facilities in Concord, Ontario, and Pioneer, Ohio, as well as its Advanced Technology Centre in Kitchener, Ontario, will continue to be utilized for the research, development and manufacture of laser-welding technology for commercial applications.
