Simonet Appointed to Finisar Board

The board of directors for fiber optic subsystems provider Finisar Corp. has appointed Helene Simonet to its body.

Simonet served as executive vice president and chief financial officer of Coherent Inc., a photonics-based solutions provider, from April 2002 to February 2016. She was also the vice president of finance at Coherent's former medical group and vice president of finance at its photonics division. Prior to joining Coherent, Simonet spent more than 20 years in senior finance positions at Raychem Corp. She has also been the director of Rogers Corp. since October 2014.

The body now consists of seven directors who are elected to staggered three-year terms. Simonet will serve as a Class II director, with a term that lasts until the company’s annual stockholder meeting in 2019.

Finisar is a developer of fiber optic subsystems and components for high-speed voice, video and data communications for telecommunications, networking, storage, wireless and cable TV applications.
