Zeiss Donates Microscope to STEM Teachers Camp, Classroom

Optics developer Carl Zeiss AG has donated a digital microscope to the STEM Teachers Camp of the ASM Education Foundation in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

After being used in the camp, the Stemi 305 Compact Stereo Microscope was given to the classroom of Margaret Showalter, a teacher who organized and led the event.

“Zeiss’ interactive digital classroom technology enables instructors to give their students a closer look at the materials or organisms that they are studying, and to provide a shared experience that can then foster discussion and learning among the entire group of students,” said Chris Souwand, product marketing manager of Zeiss. “Utilizing the microscope and associated technology during the Teachers Camp enabled the master teachers who facilitated the event to add an additional, engaging dimension to their activities and instruction, and to provide inspiration to the other instructors present regarding the education possibilities of microscopy.”

Zeiss is a developer of lithography optics, measuring technology, microscopes, medical technology, eyeglass lenses, camera and cine lenses, binoculars and planetarium technology.
