Gooch & Housego Acquire Kent Periscopes, Alfalight

Gooch & Housego PLC has acquired Kent Periscopes Ltd., a supplier of periscopes, vehicle sights and related equipment for land-based armored fighting vehicles, as well as Alfalight Inc., a manufacturer of laser-based electro-optic systems for defense and security applications.

Gooch & Housego said the acquisitions fulfill its strategic goal of increasing its footprint in the aerospace and defense sectors.

Kent Periscopes is a U.K.-based supplier to blue-chip military manufacturers, providing system-level optical products for use in harsh environments. Alfalight is a U.S.-based solid-state laser provider for defense and security applications.

Gooch & Housego manufactures advanced photonic systems, components and instrumentation in the aerospace and defense, industrial, life sciences and scientific research sectors.
