Sandia Lab Qualifies for Matheson MOCVD Development

Gas provider Matheson and its parent company Taiyo Nippon Sanso Corp. has announced that Sandia National Laboratory has qualified and accepted the SR-4000HT commercial grade, SaN metal organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) system for its continued compound semiconductor device development work.

The company cites the qualification and acceptance of the SR-4000HT MOCVD system as a significant step forward for the entire MOCVD market focused on AlGaN and AlN technology. They also aim to continue advancement into the deep-ultraviolet LED and power electronics global market.

Sandia National Laboratory is a multi-program laboratory operated by Sandia Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of Lockheed Martin Corp., for the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration. Taiyo Nippon Sanso Corp. is a supplier of industrial gases. Matheson supplies industrial, welding and safety supplies, medical, specialty and electronic gases, gas handling equipment, high-performance purification systems, engineering and gas management services, as well as on-site gas generation.
