Gerald Farrell Joins Presbia’s Board

Ophthalmic technology firm Presbia PLC has added Gerald Farrell to its board of directors and audit committee.

With experience in consumer-oriented health care, the company said Farrell will contribute to commercial product roll-outs in Asia and Europe.

Farrell is a 25-year veteran of the pharmaceutical industry, having worked for Eli Lilly Co. Ltd. in Ireland and the U.K. for the majority of his career; he has held such positions as managing director, director of strategy, commercial and business, and others relating to compliance, production, sales and planning. From 2003 until 2014, Farrell served as a director of Eli Lilly and Co. (Ireland) Ltd.

Farrell holds a Ph.D. in plant biotechnology from University College, Cork, and a bachelor’s degree in plant science from University College, Galway.
