Evatec to Grow Deposition Business with Acquisition from Oerlikon
Evatec plans to acquire Oerlikon’s advanced technologies segment to expand its thin-film deposition systems business.
Applications for the segment include power devices, read/write heads for hard disks, LEDs, microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) and solutions for photovoltaics, touch panels and thermoelectrics.
Evatec provides thin-film deposition systems for the optoelectronic, semiconductor and optical industries with its Balzers BAK evaporator, MSP and Radiance sputter tools.
The transaction is expected to be complete in the first quarter of 2015.
