Laser Quantum Expands Pulsed Products with Venteon Acquisition

STOCKPORT, Greater Manchester, England, Sept. 8, 2014 — Laser Quantum has acquired Venteon Laser Technologies GmbH of Hannover, Germany, a manufacturer of few-cycle, ultrashort-pulse lasers.

Venteon will remain in its headquarters and take on more R&D and manufacturing. Laser Quantum will take responsibility for sales, marketing and support. The Venteon facility will add increased manufacturing capacity for Laser Quantum, which already has sites in Stockport, Konstanz in Germany and San Jose in the U.S.

Venteon has used Laser Quantum pump lasers in its products for many years, and the two companies have jointly published several whitepapers on topics such as the generation of pulses below 5 fs and carrier envelope phase (CEP) stabilization using a direct pump-modulation method.

Founded in 1994 as a manufacturer of CW lasers, Laser Quantum entered the femtosecond laser market in 2011 with the purchase of Gigaoptics GmbH.
