Optical Society Names New Executive Editor
Dr. Alison Taylor has joined The Optical Society (OSA) as executive editor.
She will manage the organization’s journals, including the new
Optica, the
Journal of the Optical Society of America-A, the
Journal of the Optical Society of America-B,
Advances in Optics and Photonics and
Optical Materials Express.
Taylor comes to OSA from AIP Publishing, where she served as director of editorial development for several of that organization’s journals. Her past experience also includes time as an assistant editor for the American Physical Society.
Taylor holds a bachelor’s degree in physics from the University of Strathclyde and a doctorate in physics from Heriot-Watt University. Her past research work has involved characterization of single-photon counting devices and systems, such as lab-on-a-chip waveguide detectors.
