Advanced Thin Films Hires VP Operations

Coatings maker Advanced Thin Films has hired Tu Du as vice president of operations, the company announced recently.

Du has more than 20 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing and operations, most recently at Banyan Energy. He holds a Master of Science in electrical engineering from the University of New Mexico and a Bachelor of Science in optics from the University of Rochester’s Institute of Optics.

“We look forward to Tu bringing his years of experience in highly technical manufacturing operations to help us accelerate improvements in our operational performance,” said Advanced Thin Films general manager Joe Stupfel.

Advanced Thin Films was formed recently from the merger of ATFilms and Precision Photonics, formerly separate brands within Idex Optics & Photonics. The company manufactures high-power laser mirrors, optical assemblies and custom coatings.
