CellaVision Named Sweden’s Best Optics, Photonics Firm

For its contributions to the laboratory medicine industry and successful business development, biophotonics company CellaVision AB received the industry award from PhotonicSweden, the Swedish technology platform in optics and photonics.

In selecting CellaVision for the prize, which recognizes both business and technological advancements, the jury said that, “Since it was founded in 1994, it has developed into an important player in the field of laboratory medicine. CellaVision is well on the way in establishing a global standard for digital microscopy,” adding that in recent years CellaVision “has also proved that it can increase its turnover while keeping good profitability.”

The annual award was presented to CellaVision CEO Yvonne Mårtensson during the Conference on Optics and Photonics in Uppsala on Tuesday.

“It is a great honor for us to receive this award, especially given that there is an amazing group of companies to choose from,” Mårtensson said. “We are proud and honored, and consider the prize as significant for our visibility in the industry.”
