Avantes Expands Machine Shop

Spectrometer maker Avantes has expanded the machine shop at its headquarters to allow for faster prototyping, more special products and easier upgrades, the company said Tuesday.

"In spectroscopy, one size doesn't fit all," Avantes founder and CEO Benno Oderkerk said of the expansion. "Many of our customers have very specific requests for their spectrometer, but just as much for their fiber optic cables."

Avantes also develops and makes light sources, software, fiber optic cables and accessories for OEM applications as well as for science and industry.
