GSI Lumonics Receives Order for Laser Trim Systems

KANATA, Ontario, Canada, Jan. 21 -- GSI Lumonics Inc. has received an order from Samsung Electro-Mechanics Co., Ltd. of Suwon, Korea, for multiple units of the company's W670G laser trim system. According to GSI Lumonics, the W670G combines high-frequency measurement equipment with a laser processing system to meet the technology and production requirements for VCO and TCXO printed circuit trim.
We selected the W670 because it delivers excellent quality results at very high throughput rates, said Wan Soo Imm, Samsung's general manager of technology. The W670G is the latest addition to GSI Lumonics' W670 thick-film laser trim system product line, and is aimed at demanding micro-machining applications in the electronics industry.
