ESC Medical Systems' Quarterly Sales Beat Expectations

YOKNEAM, Israel, Jan. 6 -- ESC Medical Systems reported that sales for the fourth quarter of fiscal 1999 have exceeded expectations. Yacha Sutton, company president and CEO, noted, Sales results are particularly encouraging since they come at a time when we have been cutting expenses during our transition and restructuring process. These results also show that our newly restructured and leaner organization is consistent with sales growth.
ESC Medical is in the process of changing its corporate name to ESC Sharplan to capitalize on the Sharplan brand's reputation in the medical device marketplace. The company develops, manufactures and markets medical devices utilizing intense pulsed light source and laser technology.
