MIT, Applied Precision, Nikon Join in Microscopy Project
ISSAQUAH, Wash., Jan. 6 -- Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) biologists are working with Applied Precision Inc. and Nikon Inc. to develop a multiple-mode microscopy system aimed at advancing the understanding of cellular behavior.
The system will integrate live-cell GFP imaging applications from Applied Precision's DeltaVision restoration microscope system with Nikon's PCM2000 laser-scanning confocal system, creating a single imaging system. This customized system will enable MIT researchers to capture two- and three-dimensional live-cell images using light and laser-based imaging schemes as well as restorative and confocal microscopy on a single integrated platform.
