OCLI Sets Date for Stockholder Meetingon JDS Uniphase Merger

NEPEAN, Ontario, Canada, Dec. 28 -- JDS Uniphase Corp. and Optical Coating Laboratory Inc. reported that January 25, 2000 has been set as the date for OCLI's special stockholder meeting to approve the company's pending merger with JDS Uniphase. According to both companies, the merger has been cleared to proceed under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976.
JDS Uniphase Corp. is traded on the NASDAQ National Market, while the exchangeable shares of JDS Uniphase Canada Ltd. are traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
