Jenoptik Supplies High-Power Fiber Lasers to Asia

Jenoptik’s Lasers & Material Processing Div. has begun supplying high-power fiber lasers to an undisclosed client in Asia for high-speed metal cutting. Additional lasers will be delivered through the end of the year.

The JenLas fiber continuous-wave 1000 laser provides 1000 W of output power for industrial uses such as metal welding and cutting as well as medical technologies and security applications. It was featured last month at the EuroBLECH 2012 trade show in Hannover, Germany.

Additional terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
