Optical Surfaces Celebrates 50 Years in Business
High-precision optics manufacturer Optical Surfaces Ltd. recently announced that April 13 marked the company’s 50-year anniversary.
Over the past half century, the company has established itself as an international manufacturer of precision optical components and systems, serving organizations involved with fundamental physics, astronomy, space, defense and the environment. It supplies research labs and industrial organizations with optical components and instruments such as flats, spheres, aspherics, beam expanders, collimators and large optics.
“Despite the pressures of global recession, we have managed to increase sales by 20 percent over the last three years,” said Dr. Aris Kouris, sales manager.
The growth results from two major projects: increasing volume optics customers, and shipping several complete systems integrating precision optics, mechanics and software, Kouris said.
“To celebrate our 50th anniversary, we will launch a completely new, information-rich website later this month and several new products, including a high- precision five-axis mount and an unequal path interferometer over the course of 2012.”
