RPO Launches ASE Optics Europe

To strengthen its European customer presence, Rochester Precision Optics (RPO) and its subsidiary ASE Optics announced the launch of optical engineering services firm ASE Optics Europe.

The new firm’s opening is in response to the growing demand for optics and photonics as enabling technologies in Europe. It will provide optical engineering and design for companies specializing in biotechnology, medical devices, and industrial and automotive technology.

The European office will offer ASE Optics’ Discovery Service — 20 hours of engineering for a set price — which can determine feasibility, define a problem, or identify a solution to a well-defined problem.

“Their unique Discovery Service is an economical way to seek answers fast, and we’re excited to strengthen our European market presence and increase our engineering services with the opening of ASE Optics Europe,” said Bill Hurley, RPO president and CEO. “We believe that engineering services are key to the end system performance for RPO’s global customers.”

Andres Cifuentes, director of European sales and engineering, will lead ASE Optics Europe from his Barcelona office.
