Lasertel Expands Diode Production Capacity
Lasertel Inc. has purchased a second high-throughput, multiwafer GEN200 Edge molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) production system from Veeco Instruments Inc.
The system offers advanced automation, precise process control and in situ process monitoring.
Lasertel is enhancing the manufacturing capabilities of its high-volume semiconductor laser fabrication and packaging facility in Tucson to support the increased demand for its current class-defining product portfolio. The purchase brings the company’s in-house complement of MBE tools to four. The expansion is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of this year.
Lasertel, a subsidiary of Selex Galileo Inc., a Finmeccanica company, provides laser diode solutions.
Veeco develops and manufactures LEDs, solar cells and hard disk drives.
