Intevac Photonics Awarded $10M Army Contract
Intevac Photonics, a subsidiary of Intevac Inc., received a $10 million contract from the US Army’s Apache Helicopter Program Office to bring its extreme-low-light digital camera into the initial production phase.
The fixed-price contract includes the initial delivery of these cameras, based on patented electron bombard active pixel sensor design, for use in the Apache Pilot Night Vision System. This award represents the first of several production phases for integration on all AH-64 Apache helicopters.
“This is an important win for our business and the first step towards expanding our family of digital sensors to other key US military applications,” said Drew Brugal, executive vice president and general manager.
Intevac Photonics manufactures high-sensitivity imaging products, vision systems and materials identification instruments that utilize Raman technology for the defense, industrial, medical and scientific markets.
