Spectranetics Reports Record Core Medical Revenues
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., Oct. 20 -- Spectranetics Corp. has reported record core medical revenues for the three months ended September 30, 1999. Core medical revenues exclude sales of lasers and fiber-optic probes under a supply agreement with US Surgical Corp.; the company completed sales of lasers under this contract in 1998.
Spectranetics reported core medical revenue for the quarter of $6,644,000, a 59 percent increase over the $4,177,000 recorded in the three months ended September 30, 1998. All product lines in the core medical group -- including overall disposable sales, laser system sales, and service -- reported gains over 1998's third quarter; laser coronary angioplasty catheters led the way with growth of 168 percent. Service and lead removal saw third-quarter revenue grow 9 percent and five percent, respectively, over the same period last year.
