Cymer Opens European Headquarters in Netherlands

SAN DIEGO, Oct. 4 -- Cymer Inc. has established a European headquarters office in Maarssen, The Netherlands, in a move to centralize its European field service and support, as well as all sales, marketing and administration activities in the region. By consolidating these functions in a new 350-square-meter facility, Cymer plans to increase internal efficiency and enhance customer service and support, leading to strengthened European capabilities for the company.
Jay Manning, director of Cymer's European operations, will head the new European office, directing operations at Maarssen and overseeing the activities of remote service and support technicians in France, Italy, Germany, Israel, and the United Kingdom. Cymer attributed increased requests for support from chipmakers and lithography suppliers to the growth of its installed base of deep UV excimer lasers throughout Europe.
