Planar Names FLIR Chief to Board

BEAVERTON, Ore., Sept. 14 -- Planar Systems Inc. has named J. Kenneth Stringer III to a new seat on its board of directors. Stringer is the current president and CEO of FLIR Systems Inc., based in Portland, Ore. Ken's experience at FLIR has been with many of the same markets Planar serves, stated William D. Walker, chairman of Planar Systems. His perspective will be a welcome addition to the Planar board.
Before joining FLIR Systems, Stringer was director of financial reporting with Evans Products Co. in Portland, Ore. He began his career with Touche Ross and Co. (later Deloitte & Touche) after receiving his bachelor's degree from the University of Oregon.
