LaserSight Announces Second Quarter 1999 Results
WINTER PARK, Fla., Aug. 11 -- LaserSight Inc. reported results of $5.3 million in technology-related and total revenues for the second quarter of fiscal 1999, an increase of approximately 8 percent from the $4.9 million recorded in the second quarter of 1998. The company reported a net loss for the quarter of $3.5 million, or $0.21 per share.
During the three months ended June 30, 1999, LaserSight sold 16 refractive laser systems, compared with 15 systems sold during the same period in 1998. The company's terms of sale continued to improve; the average selling price of the LaserScan LSX excimer laser system increased approximately 20 percent net of commissions over first quarter 1999 prices.
