Former Veeco Exec Joins Optomec

Optomec Inc. announced the recent addition of Dr. David Bohling as its vice president of engineering.

In his new role, Bohling will lead the company’s effort to further the development of its high-volume printed electronics solutions. He brings to the company a broad experience in delivering robust production solutions ranging from large-scale physical vapor deposition equipment to precision flow measurement and control systems.

His experience includes working at companies such as Air Products, Veeco Instruments and Advanced Energy. He is also co-founder and board member of Sunsonix, an early-stage photovoltaic technology company.

“Having been involved in a number of cutting-edge technology development programs which push the envelope of conventional wisdom, I find my role with Optomec to be exciting while offering a huge opportunity to impact three-dimensional direct printing,” Bohling said. “In turn, the challenges of helping Optomec continue to transition its Aerosol Jet solution into a mature production process fits well with my technology, business and manufacturing background.”
