LeCroy Previews Fourth Quarter Results
CHESTNUT RIDGE, N.Y., July 27 -- LeCroy Corp. announced anticipated financial results for the fourth quarter of fiscal 1999 ended June 30, 1999. Revenue for the quarter is expected to be approximately $30 million. Management has deferred recognizing $3 million in revenue from network analysis products until fiscal 2000. The deferral of $2.2 million in revenue from these products will be subsequently recognized on a sell-through basis due to the initial efforts required by the company to assist its distributor in completing the sale to the final customer. The remaining $0.8 million of deferred revenue is related to a large networking equipment provider.
LeCroy expects to reverse approximately $2 million in pre-tax restructuring charges -- net of one-time charges -- recorded in the fourth quarter of fiscal 1998. These charges will not be incurred because certain activities are not being implemented. In addition, the company has limited its exposure for environmental cleanup assumed in the acquisition of Digitech in the second quarter of fiscal 1998. As a result LeCroy anticipates that it will reverse $1.1 million in non-recurring costs reserved for this task. Including the aforementioned one-time items, LeCroy expects net income to break even for the fourth quarter of fiscal 1999.
