Adaptive Optics for Vision Science: Principles, Practices, Design, and Applications
is devoted to the fundamentals of the technology. Part of the “Wiley Series
in Microwave and Optical Engineering,” the 616-page book is based on collaborations
fostered by the Center for Adaptive Optics, a consortium of universities, corporations
and government laboratories. Written mainly for researchers in vision science and
ophthalmology, it features sections on design examples, wavefront measurement and
correction, and retinal-imaging and vision-correction applications. It explores
how wavefront sensors may lead to correction methods for higher-order vision aberrations.
