Point Source Rebrands as Qioptiq

Point Source, a member of the Qioptiq Group, announced yesterday that it has rebranded itself as Qioptiq, effective immediately.

The rebranding decision is part of the Group’s global strategy to operate under a single brand worldwide.

Acquired by Qioptiq in 2008, The UK company develops high-value flexible laser technology for precision instrumentation used in biotechnology research and semiconductor fabrication. Its technology has been used to map the human genome and development of personalized medicine, as well as volume manufacturing within the semiconductor industry.

The UK office of Qioptiq will remain at Hamble, where its specialist engineering, manufacturing and test facility is based. It designs and manufactures products for the industrial manufacturing, medical and life sciences, R&D, and defense and aerospace industries.
