IPG Announces 5th Intl. Symposium

High-power fiber lasers and amplifiers maker IPG Photonics Corp. of Oxford, Mass., announced the 5th International Symposium on High-Power Fiber Lasers and their Applications. The symposium will be chaired by IPG Founder, Chairman and CEO Valentin Gapontsev and will be held June 28-July 1 in St. Petersburg, Russia, in conjunction with the 14th International Conference on Laser Optics, the largest forum in the field of laser sciences in Russia and Eastern Europe. Key topics will include high-power fiber lasers and delivery for material processing applications, high-energy fiber lasers, cutting and welding with kilowatt fiber lasers and sintering and powder deposition. The symposium will feature more than 50 speakers and a plenary talk by Dr. Gapontsev as well as the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the laser.
