IEEE Honors OneChip Photonics

OneChip Photonics of Ottawa announced it has received the 2009 Outstanding Technology Company Award from the IEEE Ottawa section. The award was presented Nov. 20 in Ottawa during the 65th Annual General Meeting and celebration of the 125th anniversary of IEEE. Edging out several other nominees and gaining recognition for its local high-tech industry talent and achievements, OneChip was honored for its breakthrough approach and photonic integrated circuit (PIC) based optical transceivers, which will enable the widespread deployment of fiber to the home (FTTH) and new business and consumer broadband applications.
