Osram Sylvania Launches Contest
Automotive lighting maker Osram Sylvania of Hillsboro, N.H., and the College for Creative Studies (CCS) in Detroit officially launched the first annual Osram Automotive Lighting Design Challenge today. The project is designed to help educate future transportation designers on the benefits of advanced energy-efficient LED lighting technologies and the design freedom they offer. The challenge is running concurrently with the CCS fall curriculum for second-year students in the university’s transportation design program. Contest entrants will design a concept for a forward lighting application using Osram Sylvania LEDs and can connect with the company's lighting engineers via Facebook. The contest will be judged by a panel of automotive designers, lighting manufacturers, and Osram Sylvania representatives. The top three will be awarded a total of $5000 in scholarships: $2500 for first place, $1500 for second and $500 for third. The winning entries will be unveiled during an awards ceremony in December at CCS.
