Navitar Expands Defense Business

Navitar, a manufacturer of precision optical systems located in Rochester, NY, has announced that it is poised to assist defense contractors and others in need of an independent optical solutions provider. Since the purchase of the Wharton, NJ-based Special Optics back in February 2008, Navitar has expanded its customer relationships with defense contractors such as BAE, Rockwell Collins and Flir. Navitar’s custom, precision optics and electro-optical solutions are used for long range surveillance, infrared imaging, unmanned aerial vehicles, unmanned ground vehicles, missile tracking, weapons testing, homeland security and defense applications. Products include the Metric Zoom ultra-long range surveillance lens, SWIR hyperspectral lenses, low magnification NMV video lenses, and custom optical systems.
