Chan to Head NeoPhotonics China
NeoPhotonics of San Diego has appointed K.Y. Chan as general manager of NeoPhotonics China in Shenzhen, home to 2000 employees and to the bulk of its manufacturing infrastructure and a significant portion of its development engineering resources. Chan previously was with EcoTech International Group, a company he co-founded to provide clean technology and operations consulting to property managers in China and in the US. He also has held management positions with several global companies, including Advanced Micro Devices, where he was vice president of supply chain management; Picsel Technologies, an embedded software company where he was the Greater China region managing director; Hewlett-Packard, where he established and served as general manager of the China Solutions Software Center; and Motorola, where, over a 15-year period, he held several positions, including vice president and general manager of the Asian Broadband Communications Sector.
