China’s 1st Tandem Junction PVs
ENN Solar Energy of Santa Clara, Calif., has produced China’s first 5.7 m
2 high-efficiency tandem junction thin-film photovoltaic (PV) panels using a SunFab Thin Film Line supplied by Applied Materials Inc., also of Santa Clara. Working together at ENN’s leading-edge facility in Langfang, China, the companies achieved this milestone five months after the equipment was installed. The ultralarge PV panels are nearly four times larger than conventional modules on the market and use Applied’s tandem junction technology to deliver significantly higher conversion efficiencies at competitive costs.
