Kyocera Builds Plant in China
Kyocera Corp. of Kyoto, Japan, is constructing a solar module manufacturing plant in Tianjin, China, to expand the production capacity of Kyocera Solar Energy Co. Ltd. The company will make modules primarily for the Asian market and will target an eventual production capacity of 240 MW, a fourfold increase in its current 60-MW capacity. Construction of the factory will begin in April, with completion scheduled for spring 2010. When the facility is finished, all solar manufacturing operations will be transferred there.
