Science Tunnel Makes US Debut

The Science Tunnel, an interactive multimedia exhibition that offers visitors a journey into the realm of scientific discoveries, is on display at South Florida Science Museum in Palm Beach County.

The internationally renowned, 10,000-square-foot exhibition from the Max Planck Society, a nonprofit German research organization, features video stations and hands-on displays designed to spark interest in science and a deeper understanding of science research among even the youngest minds.

Visitors can observe dancing atoms and molecules at work, discover the roots of human culture, fight a virus before it infects the body or race through the city of Tübingen, Germany, on a bicycle at the speed of light. Most of the unique pictures, videos, computer simulations and exhibits within the Science Tunnel come from the 80 Max Planck institutes in Germany and abroad.

CERN, the world’s largest particle physics laboratory, the European Space Agency, the European Southern Observatory, the Fraunhofer Society and other institutions also have lent valuable components. Sponsored by Bank of America, the Science Tunnel will be available at the museum through March 29. For more information, visit: www.sfsm.org
