Andor Technology Wins 2008 Rising Star Award

Belfast-based Andor Technology has been named winner of the Rising Star category of the 2008 Cathay Pacific Business Awards. First introduced in 2005, these annual awards are designed to acknowledge business dynamism and success by small- and medium-size enterprises operating in Hong Kong and China. Andor, which specializes in digital cameras and light-measuring technology, was one of the first companies in Northern Ireland to establish a direct presence in China. The company then expanded its distribution network and in May 2007 appointed Titan Electro-Optics as its exclusive representative in Hong Kong and China. As a result, sales in Hong Kong and China have more than tripled since 2006. The Rising Star Award particularly praises the ongoing growth of the relationships forged between the UK, China and Hong Kong.
