Martin Jackson to Lead Plastic Logic’s Cambridge R&D Center
Plastic Logic has named Martin Jackson vice president, technology, at its Cambridge, UK, research and development center. Jackson has more than 20 years of executive and technical management experience in the communications, consumer electronics, and semiconductor industries. The co-founder of four startups, Jackson most recently served as chief technology officer (CTO) for Artimi Ltd, a Cambridge-based semiconductor company specializing in the delivery of high-speed wireless connectivity in portable consumer electronics devices. At Artimi, he was responsible for the development and delivery of the industry’s first demonstration of next-generation high-speed Bluetooth over Ultra Wideband at 3 GSM in February 2007. Previously, Jackson was CTO at Frontier Silicon, a fabless semiconductor company. He also served as CTO of DSL semiconductor company GlobespanVirata (later merged with Conexant Corp.). He came to Globespan via the merger with Virata, where he served as vice president of engineering, CTO and a board member. In the early days of his career, Jackson co-founded a company that developed one of the first pen-based PDAs – a forerunner to today’s eBook products. Jackson is also a member of DisplayLink’s board of directors.
