Nano-C Awarded Patents for Carbon Nanotubes, Fullerenes

Nano-C Inc., a Westwood, Mass.-based developer of nanostructured carbon materials, today announced that it has been issued two patents by the US Patent and Trademark Office that cover the manufacture of the company's core products, carbon nanotubes and fullerenes. Viktor Vejins, president and CEO of Nano-C, said the patents (Nos. 7,335,344 and 7,396,520) enable the company to tailor its carbon nanotubes and fullerene products to specific applications. "These technologies provide the needed scalability to meet the growing demands we see in organic photovoltaic (OPV) and electronics applications, including transparent conducting films for use in a variety of display, touch screen and traditional solar applications," he said.
