Companies to Develop Cooled SWIR Sensor
Nextreme Thermal Solutions Inc. of Durham, N.C., has joined forces with Princeton Lightwave Inc. of Cranbury, N.J., to develop a short-wavelength infrared (SWIR) focal plane sensor that uses thermoelectric cooling. Princeton Lightwave’s InGaAs focal plane arrays and Nextreme’s thermal bump technology are expected to reduce weight and power consumption and to enable wide deployment of SWIR sensors for night-vision systems.
