Bookham Secures Laser Controller Line

Bookham Inc. of San Jose, Calif., has acquired the LB1005 high-speed servo controller product line from Precision Photonics Corp. of Boulder, Colo. The California company will make the controller available to the scientific laser community through its New Focus product portfolio. Complementing the company’s line of tunable and single-frequency lasers, the controller is a one-box system for stabilizing the frequency or amplitude of lasers and for synchronizing pairs of lasers. It is suitable for applications such as atom/ion trapping and frequency metrology.
