USC Explores Engineers' Inner Artists

Undergraduate Engineering Life (KIUEL). On display were decorative containers by Joe Devinny, professor of environmental engineering in the Sonny Astani Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, who also exhibited paintings including "Campesino," an acrylic depicting a hispanic farmworker; a simplified version of Arwen’s blood red dress in "The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King," by Shirin Nikaein, a senior electrical engineering major; triptychs inspired by Albers' Homage to the Square by Geza Bottlik, professor of industrial and systems engineering; a self-portrait, "Cartoon," by Leslie Nguyen, a computer science student; and a film by senior computer science major Julianne Gale. Olivia Lu-Hill, a sophomore majoring in biomedical engineering, and Tyler Wolf, a junior in electrical engineering, provided music at the opening.
