Nano College Joins US-Sweden Energy Group

The Energy and Environmental Technology Applications Center at the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering (CNSE), University at Albany, will participate in the International Renewable Energy Technology Institute (IRETI), a global consortium to accelerate renewable energy technologies. The institute is sanctioned by the governments of Sweden and the US and is comprised of business, government and academic leaders who will work jointly to advance renewable-energy technologies that will provide opportunities for US-based companies to supply products and services to the European market, and to test and qualify technologies developed in Sweden for introduction into the US market. Funding for the CNSE-led New York IRETI programs is projected to exceed $10 million over the next three years, the college said. IRETI has invited academic institutions in 16 US states to apply for participation and three states for membership: New York (through CNSE), Georgia (through the University of Georgia and the Georgia Institute of Technology) and Minnesota (through the State University System of Minnesota).
