Gooch & Housego Adds to Sales Team

Optic and photonic products manufacturer Gooch & Housego of Ilminster, England, announced today the appointments of Scott Soden and Martin Cheng to sales positions on the West Coast of the US and the Asia Pacific region, respectively. Soden, formerly president of Quantum Marketing, an optical component manufacturing sales firm, will join Gooch & Housego as western regional account manager and will be based in Campbell, Calif. Cheng, formerly director of sales/marketing at BinOptics/CyOptics and regional product marketing manager in Agere Systems' Optoelectronics division (formerly Lucent Microelectronics), is now Gooch & Housego's director of sales for Asia Pacific and will be based in Hong Kong. These appointments follow the naming of former Bookham sales director Paul Morris as global senior VP sales, the company said. The new sales team is part of the company's recent integration of five of its photonics companies (See Gooch & Housego Consolidates) and will be present at Photonics West 2008 (Booth 1013), taking place this week at the San Jose Convention Center in San Jose, Calif.
