Workshop Explores Trends in Organic Electronics
The
National Institute of Standards and Technology's Advanced Technology Program held its Organic Electronics Technologies Workshop Nov. 18. Although the details were not available at presstime, the workshop was slated to cover competitive microelectronics manufacturing using electrical and optical devices and the availability of innovative and cost-effective materials.
Topics included the role of organic electronics materials and devices in imaging, logic, memory, interconnection, power and illumination. Aims of the workshop were to:
- Provide industry with a comprehensive view of business opportunities and technical barriers for organic electronics technologies.
- Guide the Advanced Technology Program in determining its future role in technically risky R&D.
- Help industry identify issues for industry-government partnerships within the program.
