Conor Walsh Named CEO of Andor Technologies
Conor Walsh was named CEO of Andor Technology plc, a manufacturer of high-performance digital cameras, effective immediately, the company announced June 1. Walsh joined Andor in 2002 as finance director and secretary. He was closely involved in the company’s listing on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange in 2004 and in the acquisitions of Multichannel Instruments in 2002 and Kinetic Imaging in 2004, Andor said. Before joining Andor, he worked at PriceWaterhouseCoopers in the corporate finance division; previously, he held senior finance positions in manufacturing companies in Northern Ireland. Walsh is a fellow and a chartered director of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. Andor also announced that Hugh Cormican, director for strategic development, will resign in November in order to pursue other opportunities. Cornican stepped down as CEO -- a position he held since he co-founded the company -- in August. Andor was established in 1989 as a spinoff from Queen’s University Belfast. Its tarket markets are scientific research, instrumentation/OEM and space and security. Based in Belfast with a US office in South Windsor, Conn., it also has offices in Japan and China.
