Asylum Research, a maker of atomic force and scanning probe microscopes, announced it has purchased a majority interest in Germany-based Atomic Force F&E GmbH, its distributor in Europe. Specific terms were not disclosed.
Atomic Force F&E distributes metrology tools and scanning probe microscope (SPM) cantilevers for atomic force microscopy (AFM) applications from its two locations in Mannheim and Munich. It has distributed Asylum Research products in Europe since 1999.
"Our investment in Atomic Force solidifies our commitment to the European market," said Jason Cleveland, CEO of Asylum Research. "Atomic Force has done an excellent job as our European distributor for the past eight years. This relationship will allow us to even better support our current and future customers with expedited service, and additional support and resources from the home office.
