Kopin and Motorola Sponsor Design Contest
Kopin Corp. of Taunton, Mass., and
Motorola Inc., based in Hong Kong, have issued a challenge to engineers, designers and students: Design a portable commercial product that incorporates Kopin's active-matrix liquid crystal display and Motorola's VirtuoVue display technology. The winning design will receive the grand prize, $10,000. Other cash awards of $5000, $2000 and $1000 will go to the first-, second- and third-place winners. To enter, contestants must submit a write-up on how the virtual display can be incorporated into a product and how the market can benefit from the display technologies.
